Clean stainless steel appliances

Stainless steel refrigerators are not only durable but they look good placed in your kitchen also. However, cleaning stainless steel appliances are quite a challenge and you should clean them with care. Most of these appliances are coated with a clear lacquer varnish as a final step from the manufacturer. The appliances should be well-maintained especially if you see smudges, streaks, spills or other unattractive stains on them. Always make sure that you read the appliance guide to find out any warnings when cleaning electrical steel appliances.

The items you will need to clean your stainless appliances are very basic cleaning items. Make sure you have a soft cloth, hot water, nylon scouring pad, baby oil and a stainless steel cleaner that you can easily obtain from your closest home improvement store.

Use a soft cloth wet with warm soapy water to clean your appliance, make certain sure you cover all areas.
To clean it completely, you can use rubbing alcohol on your soft cloth. You can also use plain vinegar as another way.

Put several drops of appliance solution on the wet cloth and wipe it on your appliance. Make sure that you wipe the cleaning solution in the direction of the grain lines on the appliance surface.
When you see some difficult to remove spots like burnt on grease, you can use a nylon scouring pad wet with some warm grease remover.

Using hot water, wipe off the surface of your appliance.

Give your steel refrigerator or stove extra gleam, place a couple of drops of mineral oil to a clean paper towel then apply it on your appliance.

While you're at it, arrange the interior of the refrigerator too as the exterior. Fill the a plastic tub with an inch or so of warm soapy water. Take out everything from the shelves and from the door. Place in the plastic tub so the bottoms are in the water.

Place freezer items in a cooler. Add few tablespoons of household bleach to 1 gallon of water and a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Wipe down the shelves with warm soapy chlorine bleach water. Rub the interior dry with paper towels.

Look at the expiration date on all the products before replacing in the fridge. Get rid of any that are past or smell funny.

Replace the food on the shelves. Your stainless steel appliance is currently totally clean and sparkling. You performed a good job.
